Anji Bee joins Sirius Stars 102 Lineup!

It’s official! The Chillcast with Anji Bee is now part of Adam Curry’s PodShow block on Sirius Stars 102. My first episode airs Tuesday January 2, 2007 at 10:00 pm PST. I will be followed by my pals Karen and Karla AKA Rumor Girls, which is really cool. We’re actually working on a little something for next year as well, but I can’t announce it just yet… If you don’t currently have Sirius Satellite Radio, you can take advantage of their current offer. BTW, fellow Sirius Stars host, Deepak Chopra, posted a top 10 list of tips to take the stress out of the holidays that I found pretty helpful.

More of Anji Bee in 2007

I just had some good news from the higher ups at PodShow. I’ve mentioned in my podcasts that I have a few irons in the fire, but now it seems those babies are nice ‘n’ hot. So it looks like I’ll be pretty busy come the new year. When I stop to think about it, I’ve accomplished an awful lot in one year. I know it’s a little early for the New Year’s post, but I’ve never been one for traditional holiday activities, anyway… I’ll save the official announcements for launch, but suffice to say that you will be hearing more from me soon.

This reminds me of something Julien spoke of in his latest podcast. He said that we can each be our own “channel” via podcasts, vidcasts, blogs, etc. I think that’s what I’ve become since I gathered my various feeds into the one site. If you’re into me and my content, you can pretty much tune into anjibee.com every day to see what’s new. And I’ll certainly be looking for ways to expand on my site’s concept next year, as I only just created it — what, 3 months ago?

Chillcast Holiday Show on Sirius 12/12/06

The Chillcast with Anji Bee will once again be featured on PodShow’s block of programming for Sirius Stars 102 on Tuesday December 12, 2006. In the spirit of the holiday season, I will be spinning a mix of Electronica and Indie Pop Christmas and winter themed tunes. Fun times. I understand Adam Curry will be making a guest appearance, as well… For those that can not tune in, I will be uploading my set as a podcast in the next few days, so check back for that!

Of course, I ain’t leaving out you terrestrial or Internet radio DJs, either; this is an open invitation to anyone producing audio! By the way, you can also find this shoutout on the Podshow Promos Blog, which is a good way to get your promos played on the Daily Source Code.

Chillin’ with Lovespirals #26: Kernel Panic

Ryan and Anji update you in the saga of Ryan’s new Mac Mini and how it affects progress on Lovespirals’ current recording sessions, reminisce about sneaking into NAMM, share Ryan’s “second choice” theory, make a big podcast announcement, and answer listener email, as Anji tries not to cough into the mic.

I *still* heart Jules!

Looks like it’s been a month to the day that I proclaimed my love for Julien Smith, and I stand by that claim today. In fact, I love him more with every passing podcast, blog entry, and – now – Flickr photo! Seriously, though, what an amazing guy. I had no idea who I was talking to last month, but having followed up on my glib pledge to be the charter member of his cult following, well, I am truly smitten. Lately he’s been talking about how he hesitates to promote In Over Your Head as a Hip Hop music show because people are apparently closed minded about the genre. That is really too bad, because not only does Jules offer more than a mere music podcast, underground Hip Hop has more to offer than the potential listener might suppose, particularly when it is selected by the knowledgeable and socio-politically conscious Jules. Oh! And he actually does play more than Hip Hop, including some very hip Electro tunes. So if you haven’t yet, go check his shit out!

PodShow site facelift

This week I gave my various PodShow pages a bit of a facelift with new artwork. I’ve been thinking about phasing them all out once I finish archiving all my episodes on this site, but I realized that I’ll miss all the cool reviews listeners put up on The Chillcast page… so maybe I’ll keep the PodShow pages as well as the Anji Bee site. I dunno yet!

Oh, I also started a promos and theme songs page on my site. I know I’m always searching for folk’s podcast promos to play on The Chillcast, so I want to make it easy for others to find mine. I also thought it was cool that Dawn and Drew made their theme music available for listeners to download and use as ringtones, so I copied them! I’ll add more stuff to that page soon, so check back again later.

Lovespirals: Podsafe downtempo darlings

Checking out the new relaunch of the PodShow+ site which now includes the Podsafe Music Network, I noticed that my band, Lovespirals, is dominating the Downtempo Top 10 chart. We currently hold the number 1, 2, and 9 spots. Not too shabby.

We’re actually gearing up to officially add our band podcast, Chillin’ with Lovespirals, to PodShow. I was thinking we could start doing vidcasts, or at least occasional videos, since Podshow makes it so easy to do and offers unlimited bandwidth. It would probably kill us to try and host videos ourselves!

This is certainly an exciting time filled with interesting possibilities…
