I was inspired to join the Cupid’s Hunt Valentine’s Day podcast project after hearing about it on a recent Friday Favecast. I thought, “What fun to get involved with some of my favorite podcasters!” Plus I really wanted to return some of the love that so many of The Chillcast listeners have showered on me the past 2 weeks. New Lovespirals Remix Contest Begins

Lovespirals Remix Contest

Remix Lovespirals‘ podsafe single, “This Truth,” from their latest album, Long Way From Home, for the PeaceLoveProduction Remix Contest! The finalist will win an iPod Touch, a year’s subscription to the PLP Producer’s Vault, and all 3 Lovespirals’ CDs – personally autographed by Anji Bee and Ryan Lum – plus inclusion on a Lovespirals remix digital EP and CD. The runner-up will win the 3 CDs plus inclusion on the remix EP and CD. Additionally, the top 5 remixes will be offered as podsafe singles on the Podsafe Music Network. The contest began 2/8/2008 and runs until 4/1/2008. Good luck!

Hard to believe 2007 is over! Tons of great podsafe music was released last year, making it tough to come up with just 20 of my favorite songs! As I mention on the podcast, I limited my selection to PODSAFE tracks from 2007 that were previously played on The Chillcast. There were many great special-permissions tracks I played as well, but I limited myself to songs that every podcaster can legally play on their show. Lovespirals on Accident Hash Podcast #255

Talk about seminal music podcasts… The award winning PodShow podcast, Accident Hash turned 3 today and the show’s amazingly talented and sweet producer, C.C. Chapman, dedicated it the Troops. What a guy! Several podcasters — including Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff, Mike Yusi, Christopher Penn and me — recorded special holiday messages for the Troops, which are featured in this show. In addition to tracks by podsafe artists Matthew Ebel, RaykoKRB, Black Lab, Chance and many others, this episode includes Lovespirals’ “Motherless Child.” C.C. was the very first podcaster to hear Long Way From Home and we’ve got a mutual love thing going on with that man. Congrats on 3 years, CC!

Lovespirals on Coverville Podcast #409

The latest “indie edition” of the legendary Coverville podcast includes Lovespirals‘ rendition of the classic American Spiritual, “Motherless Child.” Ryan and I met Brian Ibbott at the Podcast and New Media Expo last year, where I was accepting an award for my work with the ShowGirls podcast. I slipped him a pre-release copy of our Long Way From Home CD, which he was very enthusiastic about, but what with one holiday after the other these past few months… well you know how these things go. We’re just stoked to make our 2nd appearance on this seminal podcast!
