Grooveblaster CD Featured on Below Zero

below zero beats The Grooveblaster‘s new album, Cities, Streets & Bebop Nights, is the featured album on the ultra cool Below Zero radio show and blog this week. As you probably know, I contributed vocals and lyrics to 3 tracks on this album (including a remix of my band,  Lovespirals), alongside great collaborations with Yasi Baby! of Pacha Massive, Laura Harley, and Daca Kopanja. This top rated radio show airs Sunday nights in San Francisco on Energy FM 92.7 from 8 pm to Midnight (PST) and in Paris on Tonic FM Mondays 12 – 1 am (PST) and Fridays 11 – 12 pm (PST). You can also listen online via NetMusiq Tuesdays 10 am (PST) or anytime via Live365.

This week I will present a 60 min Artist Feature with The Grooveblaster on Chillcast with Anji Bee.

Hear how Gerry had his MySpace account unceremoniously deleted, was denied digital distribution by CDbaby, was contacted directly by a band to ‘cease and desist’, and how he turned his musical career around from outlaw underground remixer to chic retro-lounge downtempo fave of KCRW DJ, Raul Campos, as we preview tracks from his latest album, Cities, Streets, & Bebop Nights.

As I contributed vocals and lyrics to 3 of the tracks, I’m really excited about the album, but honestly, the whole thing is fantastic and includes collabs with the great Yasi Baby of Pacha Massive and posafe artist, Laura Harley, as well as great instrumental tracks with a sexy retro feel. Spring is in the air and that can only mean one thing: Spring Cleaning! OK, there might be more pleasant Spring diversions, but if you’ve got a 90 minute set of chilled tracks featuring lovely lady vocalists, well then, it’s really kinda fun. The weather is hot, but the music in today’s show is hotter! Just realized that Adam Curry did an “All Female Friday” show for his Daily Source Code today, but I already had my lineup selected yesterday, so it’s totally by coincidence. Lots of great tracks went up on the Podsafe Music Network this week, so who can resist? Speaking of Adam, I just realized that I never mentioned we met on my San Fran trip, albiet briefly.
