Its been a big month of celebrations at Chillcast central, and this week’s show is no exception. Today’s theme is even more personal than usual… This lovely one hour set of songs includes a half hour of chillout and downtempo, followed by a half hour of sexy dance beats. Some of my favorite bands are included in this romantic mix that’s sealed with a kiss for my special someone. Big thank yous go out to Jay Denes and Jonatan Bäckelie for their special permissions tracks!

Today’s one hour episode is a balanced mix of dark and light, feminine and masculine, and a whole host of dualities I get into in the intro. I’m not feeling very chatty today, so let me just say this is a great lil show that includes some very fine talents. You are sure to discover something great! BTW, here’s the Facebook Event Page for the Karmacoda, Divasonic & Lovespirals Event at Harlot that I mentioned. And as always, don’t forget to grab the free downloads included below.
With the ominous sound of raging winds outside my studio window, I put together a set of sweet, sweet vocal tunes to soothe the soul and bring peace to my agitated mind. And lucky you, you get to experience this bliss, as well! In classic Chillcast form, we start out with laidback chillout in the first half and slowly work our way up to smooth minimal tech house and close it out with my two favorite Göteborg vocalists. Lots of great free downloads this week, so grab ’em while they’re hot!
At long last, I present another video edition of The Chillcast! I originally recorded an intro and outro in late March, but had some tech trouble with the video. With all that hammered out, please enjoy this very cool and colorful video released last year by Exceptional Records for a super catchy collaboration between Chicago’s Waveplant and Gothenburg’s Ernesto. This is the original mix of “(I Need A) Bassline” available on the Waveplant & Ernesto “(I Need A) Bassline EP” on iTunes Special thanks to Bob at Exceptional for sending me the video! For more great tunes, listen to my Chillcast Exceptional Spotlight podcast from April 2007.
I really love the mix of moods and musical styles on this week’s episode! There’s a little bit of everything in this one hour set, but it all flows so sweetly from song to song. I just love the challenge of mixing genres on The Chillcast, you know? Come to think of it, its great vocals – both female and male – that hold a lot of it together, and there are some real doozies in here. To top it all off, over half of the songs are FREE downloads – w00t! Don’t forget to come join The Chillcast on Facebook Group.

Today’s set underwent a few changes before going into production. While the original mix was quite good, I felt like making it more mellow once I sat down to record. After a long day and a busy week, I was eager to chillax big time. And this set really hits the spot! So get set to chill out to an hour of new tunes in a variety of styles from artists both new and old to The Chillcast. Oh hey, sorry but the Deva Premal song is no longer available for free download from Promonet…

Its an embarrassment of riches over here at Chillcast studio, as I’ve totally hit a motherlode of great new music! I absolutely can not get enough of the new Ernesto/Motorcitysoul EP, but then again, I can never get enough Ernesto in general. LOL! I introduce a bunch of new bands to the show this week, so you’re sure to discover something you love. I can’t quite pin down the overall sound of the mix; genres these days are so splintered and complex I don’t even know what I’m playing half the time! But you’ll recognize the feel – a little deep, a little downtempo, a little dub – some with vox, and some instrumental. Its a sophisticated set designed to engage the brain as much as the body. Enjoy!

Today’s show is a full hour long and packed full of amazing music including deep house, drum ‘n’ bass, downtempo, dreampop and other genres that don’t begin with a “D”. We’ve got some brand new releases, a special permissions track, free downloads — the whole shebang (whatever that is…) I also blather on about recent Lovespirals successes (btw, we’re now #4 on the DMC UK Club & World House charts!), my crush on The Machine, and more.
This week I scoured the Internet to bring you the very best brand new and recent releases, and I think you’re gonna enjoy this cool eclectic set. Included in this list are several free downloads, so rejoice! And speaking of free music, I have finally selected the lucky winner of the 8 CD contest, which I announce today. Plus lots of news, recommendations, announcements, promo codes, and good clean fun.
*update* I just read a very sad blog post by Jonatan Bäckelie (AKA “Ernesto”) about illegal downloading and its negative impact on not only his music but the entire chillout music scene. He is an incredibly talented artist and it is a damned shame to think he may give up hope on making music for a living.
A special 90 minute DJ mix of upbeat dance tracks for your Labor Day listening pleasure. I’m sure you’ll dig the chill party vibe even if you aren’t in the US or Canada – hee hee!
