I’ve had this idea for awhile that I might do occassional mid-week podcasts when I want to chat about something, and it so happens that I am going out of town for the weekend and won’t be able to do my normal podcast. So, I thought I’d launch the Chillcast Chat this week to try and fill that void… I hope you enjoy this abbreviated Chillcast and that you will consider taking part in the Earthlink Advertising Challenge. I’d love to hear some jingles by the bands I feature on the show!
Figures that this show I hardly have any iTunes links to give ya… Oh well! I was playing Katarmari Damacy again this week which put me in the mood for Japanese Jazz Pop, so I dug some up online. I’ve got some more for future shows, as well! I’m so glad that you listeners appreciate the diversity of my musical interests and don’t try to confine me to one little slice of music defined by genre. I don’t know what you’d call the music I select, but I always know it when I hear it… Hope your summer is going well and that the Chillcast is helping to set the right mood for ya!
Anji and Ryan go on a rant about illegal Russian download sites, complain about the Amazon Advantage Program, answer fan email, share recent band news, ask the listeners for a favor, and play a recent Lovespirals cover of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine.”
You asked for it, you got it; iTunes links! Shownotes have been the biggest pain in the butt of my whole podcasting process, so I’m really hoping to streamline the process. Since iTunes pretty much rules the musical planet, it makes sense to link to them first and foremost. The Podsafe Music Network will be selling songs soon; stayed tuned for more info on that. There’s some great tunes this week from a new “podsafe” music source, plus a few from the usual suspects… so enjoy!
Chill Factor-5 “Sunsets Possible Dreams” A Heartbeat Away (2006) –
Satya “Silk Route (Album Mix)” Memoirs of a World Traveller (2006) – Podsafe Music Network
Soularsound “Things We Do” Jazzflora 2 (2006) –
Sangaree “Epilogue” Electrobel: Trip Hop #01 (2006) – MySpace
Spiral System “Elephant Song” Gathering the Tribe (2006) – (OOPS! This won’t be released until June 12th. Sorry.)
Special thanks to Maurice for sending me his music and to Corey for inviting me to check out IODA’s Promonet. Thanks also goes out to all the artists who sent in band IDs!
Special thanks to Rebecca for her ID, to David for emailing me his mp3, and to Jonathan for giving me his CD. I appreciate the emails from Blue Mile and Jen, as well!
I’m back with a sweet batch of downtempo goodness for your chillin’ pleasure. Actually recorded this one Friday evening, but I figure you’re getting used to Monday morning delivery, so I sat on it all weekend…
Thanks to all the bands for their groovy tunes! Be sure to check out their websites and let them know you heard them on The Chillcast. If you dig the show, be sure to tell a friend about it!
Ryan and Anji talk about their recent trip to Phoenix to play a show with Mr. Meeble, discuss the US Meth addiction situation, announce a special podcast listener sale, answer fan email, and more in this “coming of legal age” episode. Includes some road trip audio!
