Today’s musical guest is one of my faves, Ernesto! Ernesto is the pseudonym of Swedish vocalist and producer, Jonatan Bäckelie. He recently announced that he’ll begin releasing music under his given name later this year, and you’re sure to hear that on the Chillcast audio show. Taking a trip down memory lane, this is a brand new video for the 2007 Ernesto classic, “Sick and Tired.” Music video filmed and edited by Johan Eileryd of Entrepreneur.
Today I welcome to the show for the first time Glasgow band, Nyree and the Auto Charm. We’re checking out the summery video for “Tijuana,” the 3rd single from the band’s brand new debut album, Funky Tamborine. You can heart the title track, as well as their second single, “Ballerina,” on recent past episodes The Chillcast audio show. I’m sure I’ll be playing more from the band on both shows soon!
Its been some time since I featured my friend, Beth, on the vidcast, so I’m excited to welcome her back with a beautiful new video for a brand new collaboration. Today we’re checking out the video for “Confusion” by Mr. Alfa and Beth Hirsch, directed by Estelle Beauvais. The single is due out late August as a digital download on Venus Recordings, but the duo are considering releasing a exclusive limited edition CD version which they can autograph for you. Show your interest in this option on the new Mr. Alfa and Beth Hirsch Facebook Page.
Returning to the show is Los Angeles act, Active Child, with an awe inspiring new video for “Johnny Belinda.” Dylan Wiehahn directed, photographed and edited this video, which was filmed on the east coast of Australia. This song hails from Pat Grossi’s epic debut album, You Are All I See, released last year. Be sure to check out Chillcast #318 this Friday to hear the slinky White Arrows remix of “Johnny Belinda,” and the haunting Active Child remix of “Crying Game” by Hanna Cohen.
Returning to the show is Phoenix band, Mr. Meeble. Band leader, Devin Fleenor, has gotten really into lasers and their latest video gives us a peek at his custom infrared projection bodysuit that he wears on stage. “Star Power” hails from the Nostalgic for Now EP which was an IndieGoGo perk from their big European tour last year. Its now been released to the public, so go pick yourself up a copy!
I’ve got a little something different for you this episode. If you’ve been listening to The Chillcast audio show recently, then you know I’ve been really into UK producer, Stumbleine, and have discovered many new artists through him. A fantastic new 12″ just dropped on Fent Plates by Asa and With Joyful Lips, with a remix by Stumbleine. Today we’re checking out Kasper Laier Plougmand‘s gorgeous teaser video for the release.
Today’s musical guest is Georgia, USA indie pop artist, Meiko. The lead single from her new album, Bright Side, is the super catchy “Leave the Lights On.” Paul Cummings directed this continuous-shot music video co-starring Lie To Me heart throb, Brendan Hines. Today’s musical guest is Copenhagan musician/singer/producer, Vindahl. Ronni returns to the show with a fun new video for “Not In Space,” from his 2011 album, Serendipity. The original music video was created by by Mulyxn (aka Muris Halilović) and Ronni Vindahl, who sent it in to the show.
