Today’s musical guest is mysterious Los Angeles duo, Rhye. We are checking out the video for the title track of their recent EP, The Fall, directed by Daniel Kragh-Jacobsen for Black Dog Films. I want to thank fan of the show, Jeff Sipperly, for sending in a recommendation for this song. Now I am totally into Rhye. I’ll be featuring them again next week.
To celebrate the 100th episode of Chillcast Video, I’ve got a sexy video for a fabulous Shlomo remix of the LOL Boys single, “Changes (feat. Heart Streets).” This music video was directed by Video Marsh with cinematography by Nic Brown and Jennifer Truong and is a free download on Vimeo. BTW, this month is the show’s 5 year anniversary and its had over 15 million views to date!
Last month I collaborated with French producer, Alfa Kay, on a new version of his Venus International song, “Winter Sun.” Kay originally released the “Winter Sun EP” via his Venus Recordings label in November 2011 with the note that it was an ongoing project meant to raise awareness and compassion for our homeless population during these cold winter months. This winter 2 new versions were added to the original 3 mixes, all of which are free to download from the Venus International Bandcamp page.
This week my musical guest is the Scottish DJ/producer, DFRNT. From his new album Fading, out now on Echodub, I’ve got the video for “Everyone Is Moving.” This video was created by Alice Millar, and is available as a free download from Echodub‘s Vimeo account.
Today’s musical guest is the hot new artist, The Weeknd, project of Toronto R&B vocalist, Abel Tesfaye. From the Universal Republic 3-album release, Trilogy, this is his self-directed video for “Rolling Stone.” I recently featured the bonus album out-take, “Enemy,” on the audio version of The Chillcast. Be sure to check out that free download on Chillcast #328: Rainy Daze. *Explicit Lyric Warning*
Once again, my musical guest is Exceptional Records‘ band, Submotion Orchestra. This time around, I present a lovely live acoustic version of their 2011 single, “All Yours.” Ruby Wood‘s voice is sure to send shivers down your spine! This video was recorded at ATA studios in Leeds, England. Tune in to The Chillcast audio show to hear cuts from the band’s new album, Fragments.
This week’s musical guest is Exceptional Records‘ band, Submotion Orchestra. I’ve been loving their new album, Fragments, but today we’re checking out the lovely single, “Angel Eyes,” from their 2011 album, Finest Hour. This music video was created by White Tiger with direction and cinematography by Trevor Walsh.
Today I’m presenting the world premier of a video that’s close to my heart. My musical partner, Ryan Lum, created his very first video for our band, Lovespirals. This lovely music video is set to the songs “Meanwhile Irreplaceable Time Flees” and “Insignificant” from our 2010 album, Future Past. When you buy this CD or digital format album from the Lovespirals Bandcamp Page you also get a copy of this music video, as well as our videos for “Believe” and “Home.”
Today’s musical guest is Luxembourg artist, Sun Glitters. Last month he uploaded a gorgeous video for his glitchy chillstep track, “The Wind Caresses Her Hair,” on his Vimeo page. This single was released last year on his Bandcamp page as a “pay what you want” release, which means that you can download it free if you wish. Original music video by Hampus Karlsson of the Cargo Collective.
This week I’m highlighting an intriguing collaborative project from the Uniforms For The Dedicated collective of artists, musicians, film makers and designers. Primarily a clothing company, this creative Swedish group collaborated on the catchy and fun music and video project, “1020 Trickery Lane” feat. NEF. Both are free to download, bonus!
