The Chillcast Video Edition returns with this fun video for the MoShang song, “Waiting for the Bus,” from his debut 2004 album, Made in Taiwan. This comes from a 45 minute video set that he uses in live performances. I’m really excited about a collaborative Creative Commons project that MoShang invited me to join called the CC Asia Band (or CABACA) which is due out soon. Until then, you can check out MoShang’s own CC album project, Asian Variations, in my first-ever vidcast contest! Of course, you can all go download this chilled set of remixes for free, but I have one of the limited edition CDs to give to a random lucky winner. Use my contest entry form to enter before 7/20/2008. Good luck!
Science for Girls contributor, singer/songerwriter and soundtrack composer, Paul Brill, joins us this week with a fun new video for “Weekday Bender” from his 2005 album, New Pagan Love Song. This video mixes lovely archival 8mm film along with new footage and was directed by Mark Wildman Read. You can download “Weekday Bender” FREE from paulbrill.com. If you’re in the New York area, be sure to check out Paul’s upcoming “birthday blowout” show at Joe’s Pub on June 19th!
One of my favorite Chillcast bands join us today with a brand new video: Paul & Price — YAY!!! To top it off, it’s a “remix” of one of my all-time fave songs, “Little White Roses,” featuring lovely vocalist, Toddy Ivy. The original version is from their awesome 2006 CD, Sounds Like Sex 2, but this version – called “Little White Roses (On A Hazy Summers Day)” – comes from last year’s Paul & Price VS Toddy Ivy EP. This cute and creative video was directed by Canadian artist, Daniel Cambil. Tune in to this weekend’s Chillcast audio show for more Paul & Price music and a special CD contest!
The fantastic French band, Shine, have been sharing songs from their wonderful debut album, The Common Station, with The Chillcast listeners for the past year. Now we can see the beautiful face behind the lovely voice in this video for “Rest Your Head On Me” directed by Vlad Martins and produced by RIOT. If you dig the band, join the Shine MySpace page and send in a photo of you with their CD for their fun fan photos album. Shine are playing a gig on April 22nd in London, so if you live nearby check out the deets on this Shine event on Facebook. Tune in to next week’s Chillcast audio show for more Shine music and a special contest!
My favorite gothtronica duo, Hungry Lucy, was kind enough to send me their DVD, Second Sight: Video Collection Vol. 1, from which today’s video hails. Enjoy this contemplative video for “Harvest” from their Before we Stand… We Crawl EP. And if you dig the band, be sure to subscribe to their fun and personal podcast, Tea with Hungry Lucy. You can buy both the CD and DVD featured this show directly from hungrylucy.com. Oh, and check out the Hungry Lucy remix on Lovespirals’ Motherless Child EP over at eMusic.
Veteran darkwave band, Chandeen , released a new album today called, Teenage Poetry, on their own Kalinkaland label. This is the first new Chandeen album in almost 5 years and it features new vocalist, Julia Beyer, who has worked with Technoir and Inside. Today we view the beatiful new video for the first album single, “Welcome the Still,” directed by Emilie Lefellic . Enjoy!

I am super proud to present the vidcast premier of Karmacoda’s beautiful new video for “Skylines,” directed by Luis Otavio Feldens. The song hails from their album, Illuminate, released last year. The song I’m playing on my NokiaN810 is “Front of My Room,” from the band’s 2nd album, Evidence. Karmacoda have got a new remix CD coming out soon, so stayed tuned to the regular Chillcast audio show to hear some exclusive tracks from Lux Life soon!
