Thanks for all the comment love on the first episode everybody! Hope you enjoy this selection of dreamy, melancholic, wistful indie pop and folk rock just as much. I know I said I was going to do this podcast fortnightly, but I’ll let you in on a little secret: I already put together the 3rd episode’s playlist! Hey, do me a favor and spread the word to all your music loving friends, ok?
Chock full of recent releases, this week’s Chillcast features an eclectic mix of both new and returning artists. Be sure to take a peek for the next episode of Lovely Ladies this week, too. I found so many good songs this week that I had to share the love on both shows! BTW, not quite as sunny today as yesterday. Knew it was too good to last…
Electronic music podcast, solipsisticNATION, just released this awesome special collaborative episode based on the Surrealist technique known as Exquisite Corpse. You guys know I love 20’s-30’s literature and lifestyle, particularly French, so of course I was quite excited to participate! Turns out my pals Jules and Jason participated, too. Bonus! Check out the full shownotes on Joe’s site — solipsisticnation.com.
I’m sitting here trying to figure out whether to announce my new podcast, Lovely Ladies, as “biweekly” or “bimonthly” to indicate that it will happen every other week. Looking up both words on the Apple dashboard dictionary is no help at all! Apparently, both words are ambiguous. Biweekly can mean either every other week or twice a week, and bimonthly can mean twice a month or every two months. Drats! Perhaps I should call it “fortnightly”?
In any case, please download my promo to play on your podcast :
This week’s show is dedicated to the majesty of the female voice. I’ve got a killer lineup including 3 songs sent to me on CD, which is always awesome! I prefer 320 aacs, so getting to rip music directly from the album makes me stoked. I’m also stoked to have a new sponsor, Folgers! Woo hoo — coffee and music are two of the best things in life. And flavored coffee and female vocal music makes life that much sweeter…

You might find this review of Blisscent 1 handy after listening to the show…
I continue to mix it up here on The Chillcast with a bit of electronica, indie rock, dub, and soul – and all of the bands are new to the show, too, which is kinda cool. No theme this week, just some really tasty tracks. This is going up early so I’m free to party on Superbowl Sunday, hee hee hee!
OK, so this is actually episode 59 counting all the “specials” that I neglected to number… You’ll notice that I give everything an episode number now, which is a positive change. And speaking of change, you’ll notice that’s our theme for the big 5-0 show!
Julien Smith and I were reunited this week for another off-the-cuff conversation via Skype. We chat about anything and everything including the effects of podcast celebrity, avoiding parenthood, Julien’s Listen To Your Kids podcast, Homeless Nation, my Chillin’ with Anji Bee vidcast, podcast conferences and fanboy-dom, women podcasters, the podcast hype game, the importance of change, and more. I’m numbering this episode 49, just FYI…
Warning:Julien has a potty-mouth. Warning 2:This episode is an hour long.
