Got some great feedback last time I shared Lovely Ladies with the Chillcast subscribers, so I couldn’t resist sharing this one, too, particularly since it includes several electronica or crossover electro-pop goodies! There are some fantastic voices this episode and a nice range of moods and tempos. Love it.
Welcome to the premier episode of Unwind, the show that’s guaranteed to melt away the stress of your day! I’ve got a relaxing mix of sweet pop, acoustic rock, and smooth jazz by some of the best artists on the Podsafe Music Network all lined up for your listening pleasure. So just lay back, close your eyes, and prepare to unwind…
What a week! I got completely slammed by taxes, my new show was delayed, my Internet connection was down for a whole day, and I’m totally exhausted. I really need some downtime of my own! Thank God for the music of The Chillcast, lemme tell ya… Every artist is new to the show today, forgot to mention that ’til now.
I have been super wrapped up in the launch of a brand new podcast for PodShow called Unwind. It’s my first really big time assignment, so I’m pretty excited! The best way to describe Unwind would be “Chiller than The Chillcast,” if you can imagine that! I created a whole new library of music from the Podsafe Music Network focusing on mellow pop, folk rock, and smooth jazz which I find to be quintessentially relaxing. The first episode will go up this Tuesday, March 13th. If you like, you can go ahead and subscribe now, add yourself as a fan, write a comment, check out the promo, and stuff like that. The PodShow promotional push will begin probably after the 2nd or 3rd episode goes live.
After an extended hiatus, the girls are back and chattier than ever! This extra-long episode covers everything from the weather to whether or not we watch TV. We answer 2 audio comments, including one from Britney Mason about our favorite chick flicks, and a listener question regarding our relationship to fans. Other topics include Wii Have a Problem, American Idol, Rogue & Ronnoc, twitter, MySpace, Borat and Sacha Baron Cohen, plus the latest news from Cali Lewis of Geekbrief TV, Share of Rock ‘n’ Roll TV, KFC of Podchick podcast, SoccerGirl, and Karla and Karen from Rumor Girls. BTW, the last CD I bought was by Linda Lewis, and before that it was Continuum by John Mayer.
Decided to share this episode with the Chillcast listeners, as well, so a few of you may get this twice. Sorry about that! You know, for months I debated whether it was better to do Chillcast twice a week or start a new show, and I’m still not entirely sure. Lovely Ladies is more on the rock and folk tip, but its generally still pretty “chill”. Anyway, let me know what you think! This episode includes a great guest podcaster spot from Mike O’Hara.

This week I finally announce the winners of the Paul & Price CD giveaway contest – woo hoo! Plus I announce my new PodShow podcast — ooh ahhh… I also share my recent collaboration with Moosefrog, and play a bunch of cool songs with a slight Worldbeat and Hip Hop bent. Good times!
Ryan and Anji talk about recent recordings, chat about their local movie revival house, discuss the updated Love Spirals Downwards website, rant about Wikipedia, announce the winners of last episode’s Blisscent 1 CD giveaway contest, share fan email regarding the best way to buy music to support bands — as well as Lovespirals’ view of Pandora, iLike and Last.FM — and share the theme song for Anji’s new podcast, Lovely Ladies, written by Lovespirals and Beauty’s Confusion.
Here’s that 3rd episode I mentioned last week… I am launching a brand new project on March 5th, so that may have some affect on whether Lovely Ladies happens weekly or fortnightly, but I’m having a lot of fun, so I’m sure I’ll keep doing them pretty regularly. Haven’t selected an exact drop day (ie Tuesdays, Thursdays et al) so just keep checking back for more!

You could say that this week’s Chillcast is extra-chill. I bring you a melancholy set of dreamy downbeat tunes punctuated by the uplifting new single by San Francisco band, Karmacoda, who will be the subject of my next special band feature. Watch for that in March!
