Spring is in the air and that can only mean one thing: Spring Cleaning! OK, there might be more pleasant Spring diversions, but if you’ve got a 90 minute set of chilled tracks featuring lovely lady vocalists, well then, it’s really kinda fun. Of course, you can always just listen while you kick back with friends and family, or even while you work at your desk. 🙂 [Drats! Just realized I played this Essenza track on #59. Oh well! It’s a goodie.]
Ryan and I return with plenty o’ band news including a plug for the Unwind Lovespirals Spotlight, remixes of “Motherless Child” from our upcoming new album, a newly podsafe remix of “Walk Away”, and potential live shows, plus an explanation of our studio band VS performing band predicament, and news of our future recording studio. PLUS we share a clip from the brand new MoShang “No Place Like Home” Mix of “Motherless Child.” Don’t miss it!
This week’s episode is a half-hour feature on my band, Lovespirals, and its earlier incarnation, Love Spirals Downwards. Band founder, Ryan Lum, joins me in-studio to discuss the band’s 16 year history during one of the most revolutionary periods in music. From 8 track cassette to digital recording, indie record label success to totally indie self-release, fanzine and college radio to website and podcasts – we talk a bit about all the changes the band has experienced. We also premier a brand new track from Lovespsirals upcoming 2007 album!
Hope all my American listeners are enjoying their 3 day weekend. Of course, I didn’t take the day off, gotta get The Chillcast (and Unwind) out to ya! Luckily, I love my job… I’ve got some special treats this week, too, featuring a host of lovely female vocalists. Oh – me included! 🙂
This week I present to you an eclectic mix of Podsafe Music Network artists; from loungey jazz to rustic country folk, from dream pop to neo-psychedelia to world beat. There’s 3 new album cuts in the mix, including an incredible duet from two nationally known artists.
I contributed my first 100 word story to Laurence Simon’s fun podcast for his Weekly Challenge #57 with the twin themes of “lingering” and “writer’s block.” It gave me an interesting opportunity to explore my romantic, sensual nature in spoken word, rather than lyrics. I haven’t done any spoken word in years, so it was great to get back into it! Take a listen, and maybe vote for my story over at 100 Word Stories Podcast so I can win a cool refrigerator magnet! Hee hee…
Got a set of all new releases for ya this week! I’m super stoked to bring you brand new Paul & Price and Sunburn in Cyprus, both sent to me by the bands, plus some great finds from Promonet. Oh, and btw, I’m almost done getting together my questions for Lol Tolhurst. Look forward to a special feature on Levinhurst soon!
