I was feeling a bit shy about this week’s mid-week special Chillcast featuring songs from my personal archive of vocal collaborations, but that was nothing as compared to how I feel about this podcast! For better or worse, I share my “first time” story on Let’s Get Naughty Episode 39. Yup. I also talk about a bunch of other stuff I’d never talk about on my own podcasts or vidcast. Guess I got caught up in the excitement of Eric and Tam’s excellent “humorous look at sex” show!
As promised, here is a special edition of The Chillcast to tide you over. This time around it’s a spotlight on my various musical collaborations outside of Lovespirals over the past decade. I went through my archives and dug up one song per year from the various bands I have lent my vocals and lyrics to, which is actually quite a bit more than is shared here. I hope you dig this glimpse into my personal history.
For you weekend chillin’ I present a moody mix of tunes with some upbeat instant classics and another great CD giveaway contest from What About Music. Thanks to Lucy at Elemental for hooking me up with Blue Note/Narada Jazz for Down to the Bone’s new CD!

Ryan and I guest hosted Christopher Penn’s Student Loan Radio CoverCast #2 this weekend, and no — we didn’t talk about financial aid! The band were given the opportunity to share recordings of songs written by John Denver, America, and Pink Floyd, due to Financial Aid Podcast‘s recent acquisition of an ASCAP/BMI podcasting license. Woo hoo! Check it out, and if you enjoy it, please go comment on Chris’s blog to let him know!
Gotta jam packed episode, chock full o’ goodies! CD giveaway contest winners are announced, a listener request, and more brand new podsafe chillout music – including one of my own!
The Chillcast is currently listed on the front page of the Radio Times Downloads listings page, along with a lovely little review that’s quite similar to one from David McCandless’ Good Podcast Guide review. Must say that I love being situated directly next to the Blair Archive!
Woo hoo! I’ve got a full hour of deep house and dance music for your 4th of July chillin’ pleasure. No talking in-between tracks, just an intro and outro. Perfect for your summertime barbeques or get-togethers in any country… Plus an exclusive track from Todd Terry and a special guest intro!
As promised, I’ve got another CD contest for you this week, the lovely debut album from a fantastic band called Melou. I’ve got an exclusive track from their upcoming release (due out July 10th) this episode, as well. Yay! Be sure to check back here for a special 1 hour deep house DJ mix for Independence Day!

I’ve been wanting to do some more conversational Skype podcasts like the two I did with Julien Smith (Chillcast/In Over Your Head Special and Chillcast/In Over Your Head Special #2). Turned out that fellow podsafe musician and podcaster, Matthew Ebel, had some time to kill this week while chillin’ in Boston, so we thought it’d be fun to hook up for an informal chat about our common interests – music and podcasting, as well as everything that goes along with doing those things full time. I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as we did recording it, and I look forward to your feedback on the idea of me doing Skypecasts more regularly. (BTW, I sure was tempted to call this the High Chill Special…)
Warning: a teensy bit of naughty language sneaks in here and there…
