As I mentioned last week, I wanted to put together a show highlighting the various releases I was a part of in 2011. I believe I included all but 1 of these 10 tracks in episodes over the past year, but its been nice to step back and assess all the wonderful songs that I was lucky enough to be a part of. From ambient and minimal to soulful and sexy — including both sung and spoken word pieces — this set runs the gamut of electronic genres. Some of the songs included are legal free downloads, so check for those links below. And don’t forget to leave a comment on my blog to win 1 of 10 free digital downloads of the newly released ‘Walk Away EP [Expanded Reissue]‘ by my band Lovespirals!

Well it was incredibly tough, but I have whittled down 20 of my favorite tracks of 2011. I could have easily picked out 50, but this set is already 90 minutes long as it is! Now I’ll be the first to admit that this set strays pretty far from the “chillout” genre, but as you know, I listen to all kinds of tunes and this year I was particularly drawn to poignant, intense songs and newly emerging genres, which is reflected in this set. I hope you’ll enjoy these songs as much as I do!

I hope you all have had a lovely holiday season. Today is the last show of year, and tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, so to celebrate, I put together a super sexy extended 45 minute mix of upbeat dance music. Crank it up at your NYE party or just listen to it alone to get into a partying mood. I’ve packed this set with soulful vocals, both male and female, plus plenty of beats and bass to get your booty shaking. Wishing you all a fantastic new year!
Well its that time of the year, my loyal listeners, that time of the year we spread holiday cheer. Every year I think I won’t find enough new holiday music to make a set, but once again, I found a ton of new tracks for all of your holiday get-togethers. Excitingly, 11 songs are free downloads, check out the shownotes for links! This set flows from the serious and sublime to the downright silly, with a mix of traditional and contemporary sounds — and not all of it is strictly electronica. Nearly everyone included has been featured on The Chillcast before, and some of them are regulars, like Karmacoda, who open up the show with a brand new song released free to their fans this week. Merry Christmas everyone!
This week I’ve got a classic Chillcast mix for you with a variety of musical styles running from laid back chillout to high energy trance, and once again, it is holiday music free. OK, there’s one mention of “snow” in Ernesto’s lovely ballad, but that hardly counts. Get ready, though, because next week I’m unleashing my 2011 Holiday Mix — a day early, no less. There 4 free downloads this week, which you’ll find in the shownotes below. Enjoy!
This week I’ve got a chilled mix of downtempo, electropop, and deep house with both male and female vocals – sometimes even in duet. This set straddles the line between ambient and pop, if such a line even exists… It feels a bit wintry, but rest assured, there are no holiday songs. I’m saving those or the show right before Christmas. Hey, I’m really excited about the big Lovespirals Holiday Sale on Bandcamp — you’ll hear all about it at the top of the hour.

Now I know the episode number listed here is #293, but in actuality, this is my 333rd Chillcast posted to the Mevio Network. Kinda intriguing, huh? OK, not half as intriguing as the lineup I’ve got this week, which includes some pretty amazing legal free downloads from really great artists. This is a pretty classic lineup this week, with a lot of variety, from laid back and loungey, to upbeat electropop, both instrumental and vocal, with a little glitch here, a little retro 80’s vibe there, and plenty of chill in-between. Enjoy!

Today I’ve got a fantastic collection of lovely ladies supported by an amazing group of top notch producers! I’ve also got 3 Boom Clap Bachelors related tracks in the mix, as a tie in to this week’s new Chillcast Video, starring Boom Clap Bachelors featuring Coco O. of Quadron. I’m still amazed that I had well over a million download request for the previous episode of Chillcast Video featuring Vindahl of BCB. Thanks to all of you for watching the show. There are some super sweet free downloads this week, so don’t forget to grab those from the links provided below. Happy Thanksgiving!
Continuing on from last week’s darker theme, today’s show has a bit of a gothic flavor, filled with melancholy. Half new tunes favoring moody guitar and female vocals, the second half is filled with cover songs or side projects of The Cure, whom I am lucky enough to have tickets to see next week at The Pantages Theater. There are lots of free downloads in this mix, so be sure to grab ’em. Oh, and stay tuned to the end to find out if you won a copy of the new Falling You album, Adore!

While putting together today’s play list I seem to have taken a bit of a dark turn. In this one hour set of often pop edged electronica tunes, there is quite a bit of darkness, but there’s also a lot of power. With generous helpings of old time blues and jazz amongst the uber modern electronica productions, there are some very interesting contrasts going on. And did I mention there are tons of top notch artists included? With some amazing vocals? And bunches of free downloads, to boot? Enjoy!
