Over the past 2-3 years I’ve been filming various scenes I thought would work well with the lyrical concept and I finally took the time to edit them together for this fun must video that contrasts black and white and super colorful scenes. The parasol scenes were shot on Laguna Beach during the performance of ‘The Shoreline Project’ by artist Elizabeth Turk. We had randomly been on site just as 1000 people converged for this performance piece, and it was quite surreal! The carousel and teacups ride scenes were both shot at Disneyland, and the stupa scene was shot at Maui Dharma Center in Paia.

To celebrate the start of a new year, I put together a music video for the title track of our Lovespirals album, “Life Goes On,” featuring some of the more peaceful moments I filmed over the past 12 tumultuous months.

Extremely chill vibes with super smooth production, “Why Not Today?” pulls from from Lovespirals’ r&b/soul side with a little jazz and blues twist. Melancholic, dreamy, and filled with soft yearning for a better time and place, the video is a lovely reminder of the healing power of nature, even in this time of human disconnection and unease. I created the music video, as well as wrote the lyrics, performed the vocals, and aided in the songwriting and production.

The Chillin’ with Lovespirals band podcast makes another return! We have so much news to share this episode, including our new album charting pretty heavily, which is super fun. Lovespirals have a new collaboration with San Francisco band, Karmacoda out now. B invited Anji and her partner, Ryan Lum, to remix a track from their 2018 album, Intimate. “My Love” featuring the band’s new vocalist Jessica Ford, was the perfect fit for Lovespirals’ chill downtempo vibes. Jessica’s deeper vocal range makes an interesting contrast to Anji’s breathily ethereal backing vocals and Ryan’s production added a compelling dreaminess to the song.

Anji and Ryan return after an extended hiatus to a long form commentary show! We won’t call it a “podcast” per se, because it was initially filmed in video format, then bounced down to audio for Mixcloud. But Lovespirals are picking up the numbering of the show where they left off in 2011, at number 85. The musical duo sat down to discuss a recent Fleetwood Mac concert at The Forum, including some background on this podcast, the couple’s previous history with the venue and band, and commentary on the music and relationships of Fleetwood Mac, as well as how the band have affected and influenced Lovespirals. Featuring some audio from the concert as the duo give a song by song breakdown of the show setlist, it’s a good listen for fans of either band, and a great listen if you’re into both!
