Anji set to launch Unwind on PodShow

I have been super wrapped up in the launch of a brand new podcast for PodShow called Unwind. It’s my first really big time assignment, so I’m pretty excited! The best way to describe Unwind would be “Chiller than The Chillcast,” if you can imagine that! I created a whole new library of music from the Podsafe Music Network focusing on mellow pop, folk rock, and smooth jazz which I find to be quintessentially relaxing. The first episode will go up this Tuesday, March 13th. If you like, you can go ahead and subscribe now, add yourself as a fan, write a comment, check out the promo, and stuff like that. The PodShow promotional push will begin probably after the 2nd or 3rd episode goes live.

“En la Oscuridad (feat. Anji Bee)” by Moosefrog [2007 Lo-Kiwi]

Wow! That was quick! One of the two Moosefrog songs I recorded vocals for two weeks ago has just won 2nd place in the Listening Music category at Icons 2007, a demoscene and new media event held in Finland this past weekend. Lo-Kiwi has made this demo mix available for download now.

My new show is bi-something…

I’m sitting here trying to figure out whether to announce my new podcast, Lovely Ladies, as “biweekly” or “bimonthly” to indicate that it will happen every other week. Looking up both words on the Apple dashboard dictionary is no help at all! Apparently, both words are ambiguous. Biweekly can mean either every other week or twice a week, and bimonthly can mean twice a month or every two months. Drats! Perhaps I should call it “fortnightly”?

In any case, please download my promo to play on your podcast :

Anji sings on new Moosefrog release

Moosefrog After nearly a year of procrastination, I spent the past two days recording vocals for two new songs to be included on Moosefrog‘s upcoming 3rd release for Lo-Kiwi. If you haven’t heard of Lo-Kiwi, you should definitely check them out! They’re a commercial free Creative Commons label with a great roster of downtempo, electro, nu-jazz, and idm artists. This will be my first time working with Moosefrog, so I’m kinda excited to see how it all turns out. It’s been awhile since I’ve done an online musical collaboration.

Anji Bee Hosts Daily Source Code

Today’s “Best of Charley” edition of the Daily Source Code #524 is guest hosted by yours truly in an episode I call Adam Loves The Ladies! I put together a pretty darned smooth mix of female fronted Podsafe music played by “my cyber lover,” Adam, over the past 4-5 months. A fun listen! Oh, Adam told me the “Leroy” comment is a reference to the song, “Float On.” 🙂

Podcasting News Mentions Showgirls

Podcasting News gave my new collaborative podcast, ShowGirls, a little writeup yesterday. Last year they also carried the “controversial” PodShow press release, the 7 Hot Women of Podcasting, that inspired the show concept. Honestly, what the heck is so upsetting about “hot women” anyway? Since when did podcasting go P.C.?

7 women of podcasting have banded together for Podshow’s Showgirls, a new podcast starring Cali Lewis from Geekbrief TV, Share from Rock and Roll TV, KFC from the Podchick podcast, Anji Bee from the Chillcast, SoccerGirl from SoccerGirl Incorporated and Karla and Karen from Rumor Girls along with moderator Franklin McMahon.

“It’s evident that in the past year female podcasters have become a huge force in this new media arena” says producer Franklin McMahon, “each of these women already produce very popular shows on their own. This new program gives them a chance to let their hair down and chat, and it also gives listeners a treat by featuring their favorite podcast stars…multiplied by seven.”

Topics include the Showgirls’ insights on everything from world events, to entertainment, to technology as well as a behind the scenes look at what it takes to produce their podcasts.

Blame it on Adam Curry!

Folks have been emailing me with possible reasons for my recent stat spike on The Chillcast; Frank suggested it was my appearance on the RumorGirls #73, for instance. Now I’m thinking it was my expletive laden audio feedback on the Daily Source Code #508. I teased Adam about Giselle and Adam, in turn, teased Patricia about me… Guess that got some of his listeners curious, huh?
