I am back, safe and sound, from my roadtrip to Vegas for the New Media Expo. It was great to see CC and some of the folks I’d met at expos past and some that hadn’t been to the expo yet, like Cybster DJ, Dave of Dave’s Lounge and Ariel of Cyber PR. Ryan and I will be sure to do a new episode of Chillin’ with Lovespirals soon so we can share some tales of our trip!

Anji To Attend 2008 New Media Expo in Las Vegas
After a bit of debate, I decided to take the plunge and made last minute plans to go to Vegas this weekend for the 2008 New Media Expo (formerly the Portable Media Expo). This year there aren’t any podcast awards, Mevio (formerly PodShow) will not be hosting an “UnExpo” and most of my new media friends won’t be going, but Ryan and I will be in the hizzle, as it were, with no solid plans whatsoever. Look for us on the floor Saturday, wandering around and wondering what the heck is going on after 1:30 when the whole thing shuts down.

Lovespirals Guest DJ on Auralgasms Radio
Lovespirals will guest DJ the “Yourgasms” show for Auralgasms Radio on Monday, June 30th, 2008. Ryan and I will present an hour long set of songs by Lovespirals, Love Spirals Downwards, and recent projects by past and present band vocalists Suzanne Perry (Melodyguild), Jennifer Ryan Wilde (Liquid State), and Anji Bee (Chandeen). We will also premier a very special Soul Whirling Somewhere remix produced for Lovespirals’ upcoming This Truth EP featuring remixes from their recent PLP Remix Contest. Tune in via iTunes, WinAmp, Real Audio Player, or Windows Media Player. The Lovespiralsgasms show will air LIVE from 10 to 11 pm EST. Ryan and I will also be on hand for a live chat in the Auralgams Chatroom.

I’m a day late, but this is still very worth checking out! I participated in TGrundy’s special Color Him Father Collabocast released yesterday, alongside my podcasting friends Fave Nitemare, EJ Flavors, and Darren Keith, plus the lovely Anewlis. Now this is not a podsafe music show like The Chillcast is, but I still wanted to feature an indie artist who seriously deserves some recognition. That artist is singer/songwriter Celia Chavez who recently released an album inspired by her father called Sailor’s Daughter. As fate would have it, she sent me the CD this month – perfect timing for this show. Better yet, Celia took the time to record an intro talking about how her father inspired her music and this wonderful, warm album. So please take a listen to this very personal collection of songs and thoughts put together in honor of Father’s Day.
Anji Bee Muxtape Collaboration Mix
I couldn’t resist making a Muxtape of Anji Bee tunes past and present! The idea is so simple its brilliant; quick ‘n’ easy mixtapes you can listen to via computer or iPhone. As a music and podcast creator, its very frustrating to find that folks on iPhones can’t access my content via webpages — well, now they can! To kick it off, I’ve assembled an array of collaborations recorded from 2003 to the present day. And by present day, I mean like last week! Included in the mix is a brand new unreleased track from the upcoming CABACA album assembled by MoShang and PigSkinHead, which I am very excited about. I also threw in my “hidden track” on the new Chandeen album, and for fun, my song from PUSSY: The Musical. There are quite a few obscure tracks here, so check it out when you get a chance. Adam Curry just played “Our Song” on his Daily Source Code Fubar Friday Edition this week on my recommendation. I’d been trying to turn him onto Beth Hirsch’s Podsafe Music Network page for a few weeks and finally hit upon the perfect track from her new album, Wholehearted, for his show. Luckily, Beth was gracious enough to grant this song podsafe status for Adam’s use. As an added twist to the story, I sent my 2nd request to Adam via his Official Musicologist, Jersey Todd, whom I suspected would love Beth, as well. Looks I was right on both counts! Now, the funny part of the story is that after all my finagling, that nut Adam told his audience the song request came via “the incredibly desirable but ever unreachable Anji Bee.” Huh?
Beth is an amazing singer/songwriter and I absolutely love her new album! I’m a big supporter of her music on The Chillcast and want to spread the love.
