Chillcast Listener Poll – Quick Yes/No

I’m always complaining that I have more music than I can play on The Chillcast, right? So I’ve been thinking of expanding the show to a twice-weekly format. Perhaps later I’ll expand it to more than that… Just thought I’d ask your opinion on whether or not you think I should go twice-weekly with The Chillcast. I appreciate your input!

Should The Chillcast with Anji Bee expand to a twice weekly podast?

Nice meal, a glass of wine & Tony Takitani

Some of you keep up with my Twitter account, I know, and on Friday evening I twittered that I was in the mood to go out for a nice dinner and a drink. Monday, here I am blogging that, indeed, I did get out for a nice meal and a glass of wine with Ryan, and boy, did I need it! I was planning to see a French comedy playing across the street afterwards, but we were feeling chill, so we watched Tony Takitani on DVD instead. What a great film. Of course, with the story based on Haruki Murakami and a sound track by Ryuichi Sakamoto, I knew it had to be good. Here, let me share a song from the movie with ya’ll…

    Crayonville Virtual Thirst Pavilion

    Anji with CocaCola truck
Checked out CocaCola’s Virtual Thirst Pavilion at the Crayonville Amphitheatre in Second Life. I love the vintage truck display. Heard Matthew Ebel‘s classic podsafe track, “Drive Away,” while sitting inside the truck – good call! Britney, Lynette, and CC himself all showed up while I was there, which was cool. Got some pix and threw them up on Flickr. CC got some nice shots, as well. I asked him if there will be a party in the pavilion. With all the bubbly Coke cans, it would be quite festive!

    7 Songs Meme

First off, don’t ask me why it’s 7 songs and not 5 songs or 10 songs. All I know is that sexy Mr. Smith tagged me and since I do nothing but listen to music all day I can come up with 7 songs standing on my head. Opinion varies on whether these should be podsafe, free downloads, recent releases etc… I’m kinda going by what iTunes says I’ve been playing the past few weeks (besides the Lovespirals mixes from the CD we’re working on…) For your perusal:

    1. “Give You My Heart” Doyle Bramhall II unreleased (2004)
      Stream on MySpace
    2. “Turn” Karmacoda Illuminate (2007)
      Purchase on iTunes
    3. “Change in My Lifetime” Causeway Endless Summer (2006)
      Purchase on iTunes
    4. “In High Places” Hexes & Ohs Motion K’Motion EP (2006)
      Download from MySpace
    5. “Everyday” Incognito Bees + Things + Flowers (2006)
      Purchase on iTunes
    6. “I Called You” Lily Frost Cine-magique (2006)
      Download from Promonet
    7. “Beautiful Oblivion” Sarah Nixey Sing, Memory (2007)
      Download from Promonet

Oh now I have to tag 7 people. Hmm… C.C., Dave, Macedonia, War-n, Joe, Jack, and Andreas. Do me proud, boys!

    Matthew Ebel show in SL

    Britney and Anji at Hummingbird
Hung out with Britney and The Diva last night at the Matthew Ebel – aka “Hali Heron” – show at the Hummingbird in Second Life. Wow! He really gives it his all when he performs! It’s crazy to be watching a giant bird in a white tux make that music. He’s completely charming in between songs, too, always mentioning the tippers by name and responding to chat threads. Total pro, all the way. I think he’ll definitely be featured on the next Unwind. Oh, check out my new SL glasses! They look just like my RL glasses.

Little getaway to an old hangout

    Anji at Redondo Beach Pier

Had a nice trip down memory lane yesterday, strolling on the Redondo Beach Pier with Ryan. Hadn’t been there in ages! I think the pier has been completely rebuilt since last I visited; I seem to recall an aged wooden pier while now it’s virtually all concrete. Still, the rad old-school game place is intact, packed full of antique games as well as newer ones. From wooden horse races to electronic dance pads, the whole history of public game machines is there! I played a few rounds of skee ball, a rip roaring fun game of air hockey, and tried my hand (or should say “feet”?) at a new fangled dance game – boy did I stink at that! It was so foggy down there that I felt like I had taken a trip up north somewhere, like Santa Cruz. Also checked out a few of filming locations from The OC, like the “The Pier Diner” and “The Bait Shop”. (That’s it in back there below…) Fun times!

    Anji Riel’s Second Life

    Anji Riel
Logged into Second Life a few times this week. Attended the Dean Koontz reading yesterday, chillin’ at the Crayonville amphitheater. Every time I see CC in game, there’s too much going on for us to really chat, and then the event is over and he logs out. Sigh. I always meet someone cool when he’s around though! This time it was a vintage designer who liked my hair, and a gal name Absolut Smirnov who runs a vintage themed event, called Rivers of Venus, Sundays at 4pm. I’m going to try to stop by soon.
