As you’ll hear in the show, I made a last-minute decision to take next week off from the podcast, so this is the final show of 2010. Though its being released on Christmas, this is not a holiday music show. You can check out last week’s episode for a great mix of wintry holiday tunes. This episode is a chillaxed mix of downtempo electro-funk and deep house, about half instrumental and half vocal-based. I hope you dig it! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you in 2011!!!
So I know what all my American listeners have planned for this week; you’re all gonna be chillaxing, kicking back, eating food, having some drinks, hanging out with friends and family, and just generally relaxing. For me, music is always a big part of relaxing and hanging out with folks. So I figured I’d put together a chill, groovy set without any talking between tracks that you can enjoy this week. And for all my international listeners, heck, you can just consider this some bonus downtime! This is a sweet, soulful mix of instrumentals and vocal pieces. Enjoy!
This week, let’s all just chillout with this one hour set of pure relaxing chillout music. I think I’ve got the perfect balance of vocal tracks and instrumentals, with hints of worldbeat, funk, and house. This mellow mix flows dreamily along, gently gaining momentum towards the last 3rd of the show. Lots of brand new releases are featured and several of them are even legal free downloads. Enjoy the chill, my friends!
A ton of new music just flooded in from bands, labels, and music bloggers. Honestly, it was hard to contain myself to an hour long set. Especially after that extended Halloween DJ Mix I did last week! But I managed to distill it all into a streamlined moody mix that’s just perfect for the warm windy nights we’re having in So Cal. I imagine it will work equally well for wet cold nights elsewhere; you’ll have to let me know how it goes. Lots of free downloads this week, be sure to grab ’em!
