Bazooka Joe, host of the excellent solipsisticNATION podcast, invited me to participate once again in an “exquisite corspe” mix. The basic gist is that 9 electronic music podcasters – including Joe – each selected one song, based solely upon hearing the track that was selected right before them. Joe took all the tracks and edited them together, choosing to keep the podcaster comments until after all the music had been played. You can check out the fascinating results on today’s show!
This week I present a very special extended collabocast edition of The Chillcast with the help of my 16 of my fellow music podcasters. This is by far the biggest podcast project I’ve put together to date and I am really proud of how well it turned out. This episode was inspired by an email from my listener, Nik, from Northern Illinois University. I’ll explain more in the show intro… Its been a very intense year for many of us and I really appreciate the outpouring of love and support from everyone that I’ve received and wanted to share some of that love with Nik and his friends, as well as Tony Pucci and his family, and many others who I’ve spoken with privately in recent weeks but won’t call out by name… Thank you so very much to all of the podcasters and bands who participated, and if you didn’t get a chance to collaborate this time around, don’t worry, this won’t be the last collabocast I do! One last note, this episode is a bit of a cross between the normal Chillcast fare and the sound of my old Unwind podcast, if you’ve ever checked that out. Enjoy!
Another splendid mix of all new 2008 releases for the big Chillcast 100 show, including a 2 great covers – one by The Police and the other of the Stax original version of “What A Man“. I’ve also got the winners of the 46bliss contest, as promised! Plus a little audio treat from my sister singer/podcaster, Marcie. Thanks to Ariel PR and Elemental for clearing the cover songs for me, and a huge thanks to 46bliss for the CD contest!!!
In honor of Valentine’s Day, the excellent Solipsistic NATION podcast is featuring Lovespirals! Bazooka Joe interviews Ryan and Anji via Skype about the band’s evolving sound, their musical history, the effect of technology on the band, the duo’s songwriting process, and much more. Interspersed with the interview are 7 full length songs — including several special permissions (non-podsafe) tracks — and a few of my side projects. Check out the full feature — solipsisticNATION no. 76: Lovespirals.
Gotta jam packed episode, chock full o’ goodies! CD giveaway contest winners are announced, a listener request, and more brand new podsafe chillout music – including one of my own!
Electronic music podcast, solipsisticNATION, just released this awesome special collaborative episode based on the Surrealist technique known as Exquisite Corpse. You guys know I love 20’s-30’s literature and lifestyle, particularly French, so of course I was quite excited to participate! Turns out my pals Jules and Jason participated, too. Bonus!
