Anji Bee Releases Holiday Single

“Happy Holidays” is the first all-original holiday song released by vocalist/lyricist, Anji Bee, who’s perhaps best-known as the hostess/producer of weekly electronica music show, The Chillcast. Co-written with Ryan Lum (of Lovespirals and Love Spirals Downwards), Bee has crafted a deceptively bittersweet pop nugget filled with heartugging disco-infused violins, funky bass and wah guitar, and a relaxed house beat with a hint of cool wintry nights wafting through. Bee’s warm, enveloping vocals pleasantly recall Tracey Thorn (of Everything But The Girl) and Karen Carpenter with their laid back yet passionate delivery and personal holiday message.

Sometimes in the midst of the holiday hub bub of parties and pretty blinking lights one finds themselves reminiscing of the past and wanting to reconnect to a long lost loved one… just to say “Happy Holidays!”

In the midst of all this Christmas madness, I somehow managed to assemble a pretty amazing one hour mix of wintry tunes that may even surpass last week’s holiday episode… This set includes several brand new tracks that are destined to become favorites. There’s also some more downbeat tracks for those of us that feel a bit melancholy during this season. I’d have to say that there’s something for everyone in this mix and you have your pick of 10 free mp3s for your own holiday playlist. Merry Christmas!

Anji Bee joins Sirius Stars 102 Lineup!

It’s official! The Chillcast with Anji Bee is now part of Adam Curry’s PodShow block on Sirius Stars 102. My first episode airs Tuesday January 2, 2007 at 10:00 pm PST. I will be followed by my pals Karen and Karla AKA Rumor Girls, which is really cool. We’re actually working on a little something for next year as well, but I can’t announce it just yet… If you don’t currently have Sirius Satellite Radio, you can take advantage of their current offer. BTW, fellow Sirius Stars host, Deepak Chopra, posted a top 10 list of tips to take the stress out of the holidays that I found pretty helpful.

The Chillcast with Anji Bee will once again be featured on PodShow’s block of programming for Sirius Stars 102 on Tuesday December 12, 2006. In the spirit of the holiday season, I will be spinning a mix of Electronica and Indie Pop Christmas and winter themed tunes. Fun times.
