Today I welcome to the show the brand new English soul duo, LA.M.P., with their charming video for “Counting My Blessings.” L.A.M.P. is the project of Andy Compton, from The Rurals, working with the gorgeous vocalist/lyricist, Ladybird, and various other musical guests. Their debut album, Shades of Green is out now on Compton’s own PENG Records. This video was created by Marcus Way. You can purchaseShades of Green on iTunes
So I know what all my American listeners have planned for this week; you’re all gonna be chillaxing, kicking back, eating food, having some drinks, hanging out with friends and family, and just generally relaxing. For me, music is always a big part of relaxing and hanging out with folks. So I figured I’d put together a chill, groovy set without any talking between tracks that you can enjoy this week. And for all my international listeners, heck, you can just consider this some bonus downtime! This is a sweet, soulful mix of instrumentals and vocal pieces. Enjoy!
To help my fellow Americans celebrate the extended Labor Day weekend, I’ve put together a 2 hour DJ Mix for your listening pleasure. Listeners worldwide can enjoy this party-worthy mix of tunes, whether you’re at work, home, or on vacation somewhere. I’m gonna go out on a limb here (not really) and predict that you will find yourself listening to this episode multiple times. Lemme know if I’m right by leaving me a comment!

Hey ya’ll! This week I decided to break it down and do it old school with a Chillcast that is completely stone cold chillin’. No high energy trance, disco house, electro pop or whatnot this episode, this is all laidback beats. Look forward to a relaxing mix of vocal tunes and instrumentals, with a mix of soul, jazz, and worldbeat elements for added zest. Lotsa brand new tunes in here, a couple of free downloads. Its all good.

This week I bring you more love songs to chillout to. We’re back to the regular one-hour format with commentary on all the tracks. If you missed last episode, be sure to check it out as it was a special 90 minute DJ style mixed jam packed with romantic tracks. Oh hey, one thing I forgot to mention in the show and that’s congratulations to Dave’s Lounge on the show’s 5 year anniversary! Say, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out Chillcast Video #40 with Clarisse Albrecht and my Mevio Today Top 5 video spot.
In case you haven’t been following my complaints on Facebook or Twitter, I am sick. Boo! But I still took the time to put together an extra special show filled to the brim with LOVE. There were so many great songs that I wanted to share with you that I included a whole half hour extra. The DJ mix styled show (no talking between tracks) is about 50/50 chilled downtempo and upbeat dance tunes featuring oodles of lovely female vocals with romantic lyrics. Share this mix with someone special and get your spring fling on!
As I was casting around for show subtitles this week, I tried to mentally sum up the musical theme; the music is partly mechanistic but also quite soulful in spots, and then it hit me: the Filterwolf song title was perfection! In addition to describing the music mix, it has the added bonus of being an allusion to Sasha Vujacic, who is slated to return to play with the Lakers for their first game of the Western Conference Finals this weekend. GO MACHINE! GO LAKERS! OK, Vujachick fangirlism aside, this is an interesting episode filled with a kind of cosmic, other-worldly beauty. There’s 4 very cool, totally legal free downloads this week, so be sure to grab ’em!
