Returning to Chillcast Video is French electro-acoustic artist, Bonobo, with a mysterious video for his song, “Eyesdown.” This is one of 3 collaborations with vocalist, Andreya Triana, from the Black Sands album released last year by Ninja Tune. There is also an Eyesdown EP which includes remixes by Floating Points, Warrior 1, and Appleblim & Komonazmuk, as well as the original mix and an instrumental version. This video was directed by Steve Glashier, who also directed the gorgeous video for Bonobo’s “The Keeper” which I played on Chillcast Video #43 last August.

“Moody and sexy” isn’t too bad a way to sum up the overall musical theme of this week’s one hour set. This mix is infused with smooth, sultry rhythms and sensual vocals, but still retains some grit and edge. From downtempo and deep house to dub step and electro pop, there’s plenty of musical variety to savor. And you’re definitely gonna love the amazing free downloads included below!
This month’s Chillcast Video Edition features Ninja Tune artist, Andreya Triana, who just released her debut solo album Lost Where I Belong. This lovely video for the title track was directed by Daniel Chester and Dave Prosser and was produced by Sweetworld with live-action directed by Robert Sanderson. “Lost Where I Belong” was co-written with Fink and produced by Bonobo, who Andreya is currently on tour with.
After last week’s extended 2 hour episode, we are back to our standard one hour format this week. I’ve got some slightly edgier stuff in the mix, but there’s still plenty of chill to keep the mood just how you like it. Look forward to a nice balance of vocals and instrumentals, as well as downtempo and upbeat tunes. I really love the mix of moods and musical styles on this week’s episode! There’s a little bit of everything in this one hour set, but it all flows so sweetly from song to song. I just love the challenge of mixing genres on The Chillcast, you know?
