This week’s musical guest is Copenhagen musician/vocalist/producer, Vindahl. Part of the musical collective, Boom Clap Bachelors, he recently released his first solo album on Tokyo Dawn Records. The 2nd single from Serendipity is a collaboration with Swedish pop star, Jenny Wilson. Let’s check out the Jeppe Kolstrup directed video for my favorite song from the album, “The Question.” Be forewarned, its not safe for work… This video was released by Playground Music. Stay tuned for the next Chillcast Video featuring Boom Clap Bachelors!
Once again, I welcome to the show San Francisco band, Karmacoda. For the second time this month, I’ve got a lovely live recording of the band filmed at Dolby Labs Studio featuring Heather Pierce on lead vocals, B on guitar and backing vocals, and Eric Matsuno on stand up bass, with additional accompaniment by Issac Ho on piano and Mie Araki on drums. Enjoy this lush, jazzy, version of “Feel The Weight” from Karmacoda’s new album, Eternal. Check out the next Chillcast weekly audio show (Chillcast #288) to hear the album version of “Feel The Weight” and to hear about a very cool Karmacoda ‘Eternal‘ CD & vinyl contest – especially for listeners of The Chillcast!

Today I’m proud to present the WORLD PREMIER of a brand new live acoustic video by my friends, Karmacoda. The band assembled in the Dolby Lab Theatre in their home town of San Francisco to perform the heartbreaking song, “I Am Just Not Listening Any Longer,” from their new album, Eternal. This live recording features Heather Pierce on lead vocals, B on guitar and backing vocals, and Eric Matsuno on stand up bass, with additional accompaniment by Issac Ho on piano and Mie Araki on drums. Karmacoda recorded several more tracks during this session, so check back in another 2 weeks time for another lovely live rendition of a song from Eternal here on Chillcast Video!
Today’s musical guest is the Swedish duo of Hanna & Beatr8. I fell in love with Hanna’s voice from her collaborations with Stray (from the band Favorite Flava, with Hanna’s husband, Paul Mac Innes), so I was excited to see that she was releasing a full length album this year. From their self-titled debut album Hanna & Beatr8, this is “Flowers”. Listen for more of their tracks on The Chillcast weekly one hour audio podcast! Buy the Hanna & Beatr8 album on iTunes
This week’s video is an intriguing mix of vintage 80’s nostalgia and futuristic dance music. I’m told that this video created for Copenhagen DJ duo, Kenton Slash Demon was made by Dark Matters using nails and string, rather than vector based computer programming. Wow! “Daemon” hails from Part 3 of the “The Schwarzchild Solution” trilogy, available through Tartelet Records. Kenton Slash Demon members Jonas Kenton and Silas Moldenhawer are also part of Denmark band When Saints Go Machine, and are joined by Saints’ bandmate, Nikolaj Vonsild, on guest vocals, alongside Jon Philpot of Brooklyn band, Bear in Heaven. Today’s musical guest is the Swedish trio, Favorite Flava. I love their unique brand of nusoul music so I’m pleased to introduce them to you with the video for their new single, VII, featuring the lead vocals of Stray. This 3-song release is out now on Exceptional Records, and it includes both the original and Sasac remix plus the song “Dirty City Supermind” featuring Paul Mac Innes on lead vocals. Check out “VII (Sassac Remix)” on Chillcast #273 (including a link to a free download!) and “Dirty City Supermind” on Chillcast #274. I’m trying to get a copy of the latter’s video for a future vidcast, so watch for that. Get more info on the band at: facebook.com/favoriteflava or www.favoriteflava.com. Today’s guest is Nu Shooz Orchestra, whom you probably remember their 80’s hits “I Can’t Wait” and “Point Of No Return.” Last year the duo released a new album, called Pandora’s Box, and we’re checking out the video for “Spy VS Spy” created by Mike Wellins. There’s a few days left to enter the Nu Shooz Karaoke Video Contest for “I Can’t Wait (Powermix)”. Send in your best sing along video to compete for a 16-Giga iPod Nano, loaded with Nu Shooz music from 1985-present, including the upcoming collection of unreleased 80s songs – Kung Pao Kitchen.
Today’s musical guest is the English crooner, Findlay Brown. I have fallen in love with his brilliant remake of Joe Smooth’s 1989 hit, “Promised Land.” Mathieu Tonetti directed this retro-styled video starring Camelia Belle for Record Makers, whom he’s done a lot of work for. Beware, there is a little nudity — though not as much as the “uncut” version of the “Promised Land” video on Vimeo. This video is set to the original mix of this lovely cover, but you can catch a number of different remixes on The Chillcast with Anji Bee, including the Hypnolove mix on last week’s Chillcast #273: Male Vocals. You can purchase Findlay Brown Promised Love – Bonus Edition for just $3.99 on iTunes which is a great deal as you get this original mix plus 5 other remixes!
Veteran of the New York club music scene and fellow vegan, Moby, has appeared on my podcast multiple times, but this is his debut on Chillcast Video. He recently made the official video for his recent single, “The Day,” available as a free download on the Moby Vimeo page in a sweet hi-res format. The Destroyed (Deluxe Edition) iTunes LP includes a behind-the-scenes video for “The Day” — as well as 3 videos Moby filmed himself using a camcorder. Oh, and yes, that is the actress Heather Graham in the video!
