Chillcast Interview Feature with Lovespirals

This week I present a special one-hour interview feature on my band, Lovespirals. My partner, Ryan Lum, and I sit down to discuss our brand new 4th album, Future Past, and give an overview of the band’s decade-long history. We’ll be sharing every song on the album as we chat about our writing and recording process including our musical influences, album concepts, and the various stories surrounding our songs and albums. Really hope you enjoy the feature, and if you’d like to hear more interviews with us, follow the Lovespirals Mixcloud account!

Gee this Lovespirals is a good outfit, isn’t it? Really loved this episode. I didn’t expect you to talk about your history but that was a great idea. I always enjoy getting background on music as it makes it more meaningful and special.

If you can work it out, Ryan’s Floydesque skills should come to the fore on the next album. Open with something like “Signs of Life” from “A Momentary Lapse of Reason” or “Cluster One” from “The Division Bell”. Especially if it starts quiet, it will trick listeners into cranking the volume. Those two pieces very cleverly build up and establish the momentum throughout the album. “Meanwhile, Irreplaceable Time Flees” should be a taste of things to come, especially as you’ve gotten so much interest in it. I would so love to see an opening instrumental. Please, please!

Here’s a crazy thought: if you make a “Believe” single or EP, throw that iPhone demo on it. The collector in me says that sounds good enough to include as an extra.

What’s the word on singles from “Future Past”? If you’re getting a heap of remixes, I hope to see another comprehensive EP like “This Truth”.
