Chillin’ with Anji Bee #35

The show has it’s first special guest! The wise and wonderful Christopher Penn drops in with an enlightening response to Chillin’ with Anji Bee #34, inspiring me to share more thoughts on personal branding, self-promotion, social networking, etc. Walking my talk this episode, here are links to the folks mentioned throughout the show; Bucket Podcast, Matthew Ebel, Chel Pixie, Ed Roberts, Zack Daggy, and Rumor Girls. I also chat about The OC, Podcamp, Lovespirals, Love Spirals Downwards, and Buddhist philosophy.

As far as I’m concerned, “Anji Bee” has emerged as a brand, beyond “Lovespirals”, although there is still a strong connection between the two. When I think of “Anji”, I think of all your projects. “Anji Bee” is one of the most alluring brands in podcasting. It means chill, lightness of emotion, relaxation, femininity, prolific output, always something new. That’s what draws me to “Anji Bee”. I think you’ve done a marvellous job at becoming recognisable through doing what you do and doing a lot of it.

thanks for all the comments, everybody. (almost said “guys” but chel is here!) i’m always hesitant to show my weaknesses on the podcasts, so it was scary uploading this one. i’m glad to have your support and love.

btw, troy, as soon as i phrased the buddhist thought, i knew i had chosen the wrong words, but unlike the audio podcast, i can’t easily edit the video, so in it stayed! i guess subconsciously i was thinking about whether or not i “desired” “fame and fortune” as an artist, which i guess is why many people become singers – at least in this day and age of ‘american idol’.

i guess that’s another good topic for conversation on a future episode!

oh Anji, you got me all choked up. I don’t think the Buddhist philosophy really emphasizes so much NOT to want, but more the ATTACHMENT to what we want. We can want and have all we wish to pursue, but it’s in the attachment to it that we can then create pain. In other words, if you require certain things to be happy, then it’s always going to be attached to those certain things, and not to your inner sense of self. But if you don’t mind the fun and adventure and happiness along the way to what you want, then the process is just another part of life.

There is more than one kind of food in the world while we are Physical, and to want to eat and drink to nourish your body is not a negative thing; so it goes that neither is it a negative thing to want and have all the “food” your heart, mind, and soul craves so that they, too, remain nourished.

Go for it.

And speaking out to your fanbase about this is really helpful because I will be doing more promotion of you, myself!

BIG HUG!

Great show, sweetheart.

troy

I dig the emotional flavor of this one Ms. Lady — you and I know we resonate on the same frequency for things you mentioned. Lets talk this week, aiight?

being proud of who you are and what you’ve accomplished are not selfish things. you don’t have a big ego, you have a good heart. makes a difference.
